Finding the right place for someone you love isn't just about filling the hours of the day.
It's about finding a place where they are understood, celebrated, and truly belong.
At Eldergarden, we believe every person deserves a life filled with friendship, purpose, laughter, and meaningful experiences. Designed for older adults with developmental disabilities, our program provides a safe, engaging environment where each individual is encouraged to grow, connect, and enjoy every day to the fullest.
While Eldergarden shares many of the same joys as our ElderCare program, friendships, activities, nutritious meals, and community, it was thoughtfully created for individuals whose lifelong developmental disabilities mean they need more support throughout the day. Our compassionate team understands that every person has unique strengths, abilities, and goals, and we meet them where they are with patience, encouragement, and genuine care.
Each day is filled with opportunities to stay active, stimulate the mind, express creativity, and build lasting relationships. From music and games to crafts, exercise, celebrations, and shared meals, every activity is designed to foster confidence, independence, and joy in a way that is appropriate for each participant.
For families and caregivers, Eldergarden offers reassurance. You can go about your day knowing your loved one is in a safe, structured environment where they are respected, engaged, and cared for by people who know them, not just their needs, but their personalities, their favorite activities, and what makes them smile.
At Eldergarden, we don't simply provide care.
We create a place where every individual is valued, every achievement is celebrated, and every day brings another opportunity to learn, laugh, and belong.
Because everyone deserves a community that feels like family.

Moving, Laughing & Staying Active

Movement is an important part of the day at Eldergarden, but we believe staying active should be something to look forward to.
Some days, that might mean gentle chair yoga. Other days, it's a balloon toss, playing with a parachute together in a circle, or simply getting up and moving to music.
Activities are adapted to each individual's abilities, making movement something everyone can participate in and enjoy.
Because sometimes the most meaningful exercise doesn't feel like exercise at all, it feels like laughter, teamwork, and having fun with friends.

Choices lead to Independance

Life is made up of countless small moments that often go unnoticed. From a peaceful sunrise to a chat with a friend, each moment adds value to our lives. By appreciating We believe independence can look different for everyone.
At ElderGarden, individuals are given time throughout the day to choose what interests them. Maybe it's coloring, working on a puzzle, playing cards, listening to music, or simply spending time talking with friends. There is no expectation that everyone enjoy the same thing, and that's exactly the point.
Having the opportunity to make choices, express preferences, and decide how they want to spend part of their day is an important part of building and maintaining independence.
Our team is there to offer encouragement, support, and opportunities, while allowing each individual the space to make choices that are meaningful to them.
Because independence isn't always about doing something on your own.
Sometimes, it's simply being able to say, "This is what I want to do today."these experiences, we enrich our sense of happiness and fulfillment.

Themes

At Eldergarden, we love giving our days a little extra excitement. Sometimes that means choosing a theme for the entire week and building activities, conversations, crafts, games, and experiences around it. Pictures above we celebrated the ending of "Camping Week" with smores!
